Our very own Wendel Patterson submitted this to his church, PHCC’s bulletin. We want to extend a HUGE thanks to all of our partners and supporters who made our 5th Annual BBQ Benefit & Celebration a great event!
Thanks to all PHCC members and friends who worked so hard together with other churches and board members to help make our 5th Annual Fuller Center BBQ Benefit & Celebration such a huge success by raising $23,276.00. Your table sponsorship, live auction items, silent auction contributions, two vacation home rentals in Florida, tailgate party for 20, dinner for four (or more in your home), and many other prizes combined to make this all possible.
PHCC had fifteen (15) people working the event the day of the BBQ. Thanks to Paula Kimbrell for heading up the setup, serving and cleanup crew which included, Jodi & Brent Ravenscraft who sold over $400.00 worth of bead strands at $5.00 each with the prize winner of the “heads or tails” contest won by Karyssa Fugarino, and Dan Duddy who handled the audio/video program all evening. Thanks to so many others working in the kitchen, serving, setting up and cleaning up which included Shirley & Ed Kiehl, Mary Ellen Owens, Sandy Bjorn, Alice Kenny, Janette Hoy, Becky & Carl Prather and Wendel Patterson. Carl Kimbrell did a great job as MC assisting the event auctioneer, Trisha Brauer. Wayne Craven spent days helping plan, raising auction items, arranging all the food donors and purchases, and organizing everything to be sure everyone was fed with a delicious BBQ dinner prepared by John Kerry.
We had so many other board members & participants from other Christian Carpenter churches who also worked hard doing much of the same things described above. I will not mention those for fear of leaving someone out, however President Graham Houston, Vice President Terry O’Hara, Secretary Laraine Walters, and Treasurer Wayne Craven make up our Executive Committee and obviously worked so hard on the event. Cindy O’Hara & Laraine arranged lots of help from North Oak Christian Church. Ken Waterland and his wife as well as Andy and Ashley Waterland, along with Angela Wilson did a wonderful job of check in and check out of attendee’s.
The Rodriguez family and Roger Bilen were presented the prestigious Matthew 25 Award as a duel presentation. Roger was not present and will be given the plaque later. Congratulations to both on receiving that award.
PHCC’s Bob Rockhold was our lone worker to share work on the home build Saturday, September 20th. He worked with eight (8) students from William Jewell College and Second Baptist Church. Thanks very much Bob. PHCC furnished lunch for 18 workers and that was pulled pork, hot dogs, potato salad, baked beans, cole slaw, cake, and drinks, left over from, you guessed it “the BBQ event”. It was just as good the second time.
Thanks PHCC and friends for supporting this wonderful Fuller Center Ministry.
